Method 1 Using Acetone And Aluminum Foil

How to Remove Acrylic Nails

Method 1: Using acetone and aluminum foil

This is the most common method for removing acrylic nails. It is important to use pure acetone, as other nail polish removers will not work. You will also need aluminum foil, cotton balls, and a nail file.

  1. File the surface of your acrylic nails to remove the shine.
  2. Soak cotton balls in acetone and place them on your nails.
  3. Wrap each nail in aluminum foil and secure it with tape or nail clips.
  4. Wait 15-20 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and cotton balls. The acrylic should be softened and easy to remove.
  6. Use a nail file to gently remove the remaining acrylic.

Method 2: Using a nail drill

This method is faster than using acetone, but it is also more expensive. You will need a nail drill, a fine-grit sanding band, and a cuticle pusher.

  1. File the surface of your acrylic nails to remove the shine.
  2. Attach the sanding band to the nail drill.
  3. Hold the drill parallel to your nail and gently sand away the acrylic.
  4. Use the cuticle pusher to remove any remaining acrylic.

Tips

* If you have sensitive skin, you may want to apply petroleum jelly around your nails before using acetone. * Do not soak your nails in acetone for more than 20 minutes, as this can damage your natural nails. * If you are having trouble removing the acrylic, you can try using a nail buffer. * Once you have removed the acrylic, be sure to moisturize your nails and cuticles.
