BBC star Hannah Fry HonFREng's journey from cancer to 'badass'

From mathematician to best-selling author and TV presenter, Hannah Fry has had quite the journey.

She was diagnosed with cancer in her early 30s, but she's come through it stronger than ever. Here's her story.

Hannah Fry is a British mathematician, author, and radio and television presenter. She is Professor in the Mathematics of Cities at University College London.

Fry was born in Liverpool, England, in 1984. She studied mathematics at the University of Cambridge, where she earned a first-class degree in 2006. She then went on to earn a PhD in mathematics from University College London in 2011.

Fry's research focuses on the mathematics of cities. She is interested in how mathematical models can be used to understand and improve urban systems. Her work has been published in leading academic journals and she is a regular speaker at international conferences.

In addition to her academic work, Fry is also a popular science writer and broadcaster. She has written two best-selling books, "The Mathematics of Love" and "Hello, World: Being Human in the Age of AI". She also presents the BBC Radio 4 show "The Curious Cases of Rutherford & Fry" and the BBC Two television show "Hannah Fry's Smart Cities".

Fry is a passionate advocate for science and mathematics education. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about the world around them and to use their knowledge to make a difference.
