Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) put up a formidable total of 193-6 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 3rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. KL Rahul led the charge with a superb 77 off 51 deliveries, while Quinton de Kock contributed a quickfire 42. Deepak Hooda chipped in with a valuable 26 off 19.
DC Bowlers Struggle to Contain LSG Batters
The DC bowlers struggled to make an impact, with only Kuldeep Yadav (2/34) and Khaleel Ahmed (1/31) managing to pick up wickets. Anrich Nortje (0/39) and Mustafizur Rahman (0/46) went wicketless and conceded plenty of runs.
LSG Bowlers Restrict DC to 143-9
In reply, DC were never in the chase, losing wickets at regular intervals. Prithvi Shaw (28) and Mitchell Marsh (23) got starts but failed to convert them into big scores. Only David Warner (58) showed some resistance, but his effort was not enough.
Avesh Khan Shines with 3 Wickets
Avesh Khan was the star performer with the ball for LSG, picking up 3 wickets for just 22 runs. Dushmantha Chameera (2/28) and Mohsin Khan (2/31) also chipped in with important wickets.
LSG Clinch Dominant Victory
With the win, LSG moved to the top of the IPL 2023 standings. They will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 3, while DC will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2.
